Daniel Sage
SPECIAL MINI SUMMER CONCERT SERIES
New York City singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist/producer Daniel Sage has sung at Carnegie Hall, the United Nations, Lincoln Center, and played every Hendersonville music venue... and now he is bringing his voice to the Flat Rock Playhouse Downtown for a special Summer Concert Series which will also benefit the non-profit Safelight. These performances are not affiliated with the Flat Rock Playhouse Music on the Rock concert series, rather they are a mini Concert Series featuring Sage at the end of each month of Summer and helping Safelight. The concert series is featuring a different major music artist theme each month beginning in June. And people are already excited about the selections, which include Billy Joel, Eagles & James Taylor, Van Morrison, and Elton John. "Those are some of the most requested artists I get every week, at every show," says Sage, who always asks the audience what they want to hear... and then busts it out right on cue. "So it's so fun now when I see my friends and fans and see their mouths open even further, with each artist I list when I tell them!"
As for why he wanted the concert series to also help benefit Safelight, "I love helping... that's what we're here to do," says Sage. "We're all living under the same blue sky. So I love doing what I can."
"He just came to me and said, 'I'm going to raise thousands for Safelight'... and I was like, I want to hug you!" says Laresa Griffin, Safelight's Development Director. Safelight provides support for survivors of interpersonal violence, sexual assault and child abuse.
Sage will be joined by special guests for each concert at the Playhouse Downtown. The shows will feature most all of the hits plus some great gems. He always gets the audience singing and dancing so it's a perfect fit Downtown where the stage is huge and fans often join on stage and dance. "Bring it," he says. "We're going to have fun!"
For once, he knows what artists are going to be played and sung those nights... and he is looking forward!

"Rocket Man" (A Night of Elton John) - Saturday, June 23rd
"Piano Man" (A Night of Billy Joel) - Saturday, July 28th
"Take It Easy" (A Night of Eagles / James Taylor) - Saturday, August 25th
"Moondancin" (A Night of Van Morrison) - Saturday, September 22nd
